Fiercely Electric was very kindly able to speak to Avalanche Andretti's André Lotterer during the inaugural São Paulo E-Prix weekend, many thanks to the AAFE Communications team for their assistance in making this happen, and of course to André.

You may not be aware that André has a love of photography (and has a dedicated photography Instagram account), and as somebody who has had the same love since her teen years, Helen was keen to find out more about André's style and influences.
What's your current kit? Have you always preferred using film?
My current kit is a Leica M11, just got a new one. And I have a Leica M6, which is film, and I can use both lenses because it's the same mount. I can go sometimes on film if I feel like and digital if I want to. So, I like both, I like editing on Lightroom because you can make pictures look really good - even better than they are.
And the film is just a really nice thing to have, which is timeless quality and timeless emotion in the picture.
Do you have any photography influences or anyone you particularly enjoy the style of?
Not really. I'm really enjoying myself photography. Of course, I've researched a lot - but I'm not really into anyone specifically. So I'm still trying to develop my style.
But for sure, I like black and white photography. (Henri) Cartier-Bresson, he's for sure a good inspiration. And then just some guys I don't know the names of actually. (laughs)
How would you describe your photography / editing style?
Ah, so I like my friend, Bart Kuykens. He photographs a lot of lifestyle people around Porsches, and I really like his stuff.
My photography is a mix of a lot of cars. Just nice objects, sometimes a bit of landscape. But mostly I try to find nice subjects and pay a lot of attention in detailing photography in them. And the style - I always try to find what looks best in that moment. I haven't really… I'm still exploring my style, and I do whatever looks best at the moment. I'm not categorising my photography specifically.

If you could photograph anyone, or any place, who/what would it be and why?
Well, I'd love to go around the world and take a lot of time to photograph faces of local people, that would represent their culture - and approach these people and ask if they would take a nice outfit and pose for me in a cool environment.
And for sure would like to do that a bit everywhere in the world. I don't know. I would start with maybe South America. I've Peruvian roots, so I would do something there that's for sure. A lot of nice content.
What is your favourite photo that you've taken? (whether from a technical angle, or just the memory)
Well, there's a really nice picture I took from a nomad in Morocco that came out really nice, thanks to his face and the quality of the picture and his wrinkles.
And then there's a very nice picture of a Porsche 917 took in Laguna Seca, with Gulf livery. That's really cool.
And another panning shot that I took, a Porsche 908, I think it was in Goodwood. So these are really nice pictures and a bit of a mix.
